Starting in November, we will be displaying oil paintings by Rob MacKenzie. Rob works alla prima in both plein air and studio, using oil on panels and canvas, and sketching in watercolor. His inspirations are the fresh, natural light of Corot’s field studies, Cezanne’s sense of solidity and place, and Van Gogh’s vibrant color. He admires the field studies of Clyde Aspevig and Tom Thomson. Largely self-trained while working as a surgeon and a hospital administrator, he has studied with Doug Braithwaite of Park City, Utah, Jeanne Mackenzie of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Terry Plater of Ithaca, New York.
There will be an Artists’s Reception at the library on Tuesday, November 12 at 7pm.

Dungeons & Dragons Book Club for Teens
Remember earlier this summer when we were hiring a Dungeon Master? Well, we found a good one, and we are excited to announce the start of our Dungeon and Dragons Book Club for teens and tweens! The club will meet on the first and third Wednesdays of each month starting October 2nd, and will continue through the end of the school year in June. Attendance at every session isn’t mandatory, however a regular presence is encouraged since the campaign storyline will progress with each meeting.
