Join us for UPL’s 39th Candlelight Annual Meeting, this year on Zoom, on November 7, 2020 at 7pm, with a soft opening at 6:30pm for assistance with voting or Zoom. Preregistration is required at https://tinyurl.com/UPL-Annual-Dinner. If you are unfamiliar with Zoom online meetings, call the library for assistance before the event.
This event is open to all association members. The Library Board of Trustees and Library Director will give updates, the annual report will be presented to the association membership, and the trustee election results will be announced. Association members are encouraged to vote for trustees. Members will receive a postcard with a ballot. Either clip that out and return it to the library by mail or in person, or vote online here.
This year’s Trustee Candidates are:
I studied Social Work and Art on LI, and graduated from the SUNY at Stony Brook in 1994. I value libraries and enjoy being part of the library community. Working with people in groups is a meaningful experience for me. I have enjoyed serving as a Trustee of UPL since 2012. I’ve been serving as the Office of the Treasurer since 2012. I have chaired the Annual Candlelight Dinner, Libations for the Library, served as Chair the Director Search committee twice, and enjoy helping at the book sales. I look forward to working with the UPL Trustees and Director to continue to keep UPL on track to serve its mission to the community.
I have served as trustee previously for 5 years and would like an opportunity to serve again. Me and my family have been part of this community since 1987. When my children were young I coached softball and baseball, later served on TCSD School Board for 6 years, and served as staff member of Cornell University Hearing Board for Office of Judicial Administration. Retired from Cornell University 2013. Throughout my career at Cornell I worked as administrator/financial manager and feel these skills will benefit the library. The library cares about our community and I care about the library.
