Book Sales
UPL’s Spring and Fall Book Sales are run by our Library Trustees and volunteers. We sell good condition used items, donated by the community or deaccessioned from the library collection. All proceeds directly support the library’s annual operating budget. Thank you for your support!
That’s a wrap! Thank you so much for supporting our Fall Book Sale and to our amazing volunteers and Trustees who made it happen! We raised over $5,000 for the library and we gave away 629 books to individual community members, including our Trumansburg students! We gave 18 boxes of books to community partners including the Prisoner Express program and the Food Pantry.
We are currently accepting donations. Please read the guidelines below before you bring your donated materials.
Thank you!
Donations
We graciously accept donations of gently used:
- Books
- DVDs
- CDs
- LP records
- Games
- Puzzles
Book donations can be brought to the front desk during library open hours. Please do not leave book donations in the exterior book drops.
Before dropping off your donation please ask yourself, would I give this item to a friend? If the answer is no, please don’t give it to the library! Items from the list below need to be disposed of which creates unnecessary work for our volunteers and staff. Please DO NOT donate:

- Any books that are moldy, smelly, and/or damaged
- Textbooks, outdated computer books (over five years old)
- Outdated books on health, disease, fitness, etc. (over five years old)
