Summer Reading 2020: Imagine Your Story
Well it’s not what we had originally planned, but after a little (okay, a lot) of tweaking we are excited to offer you this year’s summer reading program! For 2020 we invite all ages to participate in Imagine Your Story: a folklore and fairy tale themed summer of reading. We’ve set a community reading goal of 2,020 books! No, they don’t have to be fairy tales. Yes, audio books, graphic novels, and picture books all count, As individuals read and record their books, we will be growing a “beanstalk” up the front of the library. Who knows, we might even get “Jack” up onto the roof!
Below you will find links to two online forms:
Registration Form– fill this out once for each person in your family who wants to sign up!
Digital Reading Log “Bookmark”– fill this out every time you want to log how many books you’ve read! It could be after every 1, 5, 10, or whatever amount is easiest for you to keep track of in between form submissions. There is also a printable bookmark document if you prefer a paper version to color in as you read. Paper bookmarks can be returned to the special Summer Reading drop box outside the library door (parking lot side) at any time.
Lastly you will find a schedule for our weekly children’s programs and activities. Since we can’t hold programs in the building, this year’s kids’ program is a mix of take-and-make activity kits that can be picked up during Grab and Go hours, virtual programs*, and self guided StoryWalks around Trumansburg. We hope there will be something for everyone!
*This program is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County.
