Quilt Raffle for Collin E. Anderson
On Saturday, May 14th, the library will hold a Quilt Raffle in memorial of Collin E. Anderson. Collin was the son of Daryl and Suzanne Anderson of Trumansburg. He was an artist, writer, and musician in the band “The Color Industry.” He cared deeply about teaching children, and his students called him “Mister A-plus.” Collin’s family states, “…we ask that you think about Collin not as a victim of a harsh and random universe, but as the thoughtful, positive, and hilarious person that we all know he was. Remember Collin as an artist. Remember Collin as a musician. Remember Collin as an actor. Remember Collin as a teacher. Remember Collin as a writer. Remember Collin as a farmer, a coffee lover, a dancer, a joker, and a runner. And if you want to honor Collin’s memory, it’s as easy as being true to yourself.”
Suzanne Anderson, Collin’s mother created a lap-size quilt to be raffled at this event. The proceeds will benefit Collin’s memorial book fund and an AED (device that checks heart rhythm and can send an electronic shock to the heart to restore normal rhythm) for the library.
Tickets cost $1 per ticket or a packet of 6 for $5. There will be live music by Collin’s friend Matt Chatham and refreshments. The event takes place from 2-4 pm.
