The library is currently showing artwork by Jim and Lois Kozlowski. Jim explores the subject of nature with studies of flowers and botanical drawings. Colored pencil as a medium creates high contrast compositions with bright petals against dark backgrounds. These depictions are sure to inspire library patrons during the cold months of winter. Jim worked as an art teacher for 12 years and as a full-time production potter for 37 years. In his studio he also works in acrylic painting and photography.
Lois Kozlowski’s jewelry is also on view in this show in the display case near the circulation desk. Her work utilizes woven and wrapped metal to create forms inspired by nature including sinewy vines, curling leaf edges, and curved stone profiles.
This collaborative show will be on view until mid March.
The library will offer a new afterschool program called Tuesday E-Gaming. Middle School-age youth may gather to play their electronic games in the Melvin Community Room of the library every Tuesday from 3 to 5 pm.
Due to winter weather conditions, the library will close at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, January 10th.
The library will be closed on Monday, January 2nd for the New Year’s holiday.
Please note that we are open Saturday, December 31st for normal hours: 10am to 2pm.
