Summary of Essential Responsibilities
The library assistant, under the supervision of the Library Director (LD) will be responsible for creating, promoting, implementing, and tracking statistics for the children and tween summer reading programs, and will assist with other library programs throughout the year. The library assistant will provide cataloging and processing services for the library collection and assist with the tracking of memorial and gift books. The position also requires assisting patrons at the circulation desk with general library operations as well as other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The Library Assistant must have an understanding of libraries, excellent attention to detail, the ability to prioritize tasks, enjoy reading and working with people. The ideal candidate will be organized, suited to task oriented work, creative, welcoming, and service-oriented. A college education is desired; flexibility and sense of humor are essential.
