Help with borrowing print and physical materials during COVID closures.
I want to borrow non-digital books and materials from the library while it’s closed.
Great! You can place holds for items using our online catalog and then pick them up during Lobby Hours. Get started with the links below.
Visit the catalog at https://catalog.flls.org/polaris/default.aspx.
Click on "Log In" in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
Your library card number can be found on the back of your library card. Your password is the last four digits of the phone number you have on file with the library.
Click the "Log In" button.
To conduct a simple search, click "Search" in the blue menu below the FLLS logo and select "Keyword Search" from the drop down menu.
On the Keyword Search page, enter words from the title or author into the search box.
If you know the specific title or author, select it from the "Search By" dropdown menu below the search box.
If you would like items in a specific format (CD, DVD, book, etc.), choose the format from the "Limit Format" drop down box below the search box.
Click the green magnifying glass in the search box to search.

To browse the collection, click "Search" in the blue menu below the FLLS logo and select "Browse" from the drop down menu.
On the Browse page, select an option from the "Search By" menu: Title, Author, Subject, or Series.
Enter the first few words of the title, author, subject or series in the "That begins with" blank.
Select an area of interest to see related titles in the library collection.

When you find an item you'd like to borrow from the library, click on "Place Request" to the right of the cover image.
On the next page, select the library you'd like to pick the book up from in the "Pickup Library" dropdown. If you'd like to pick up from this library (Ulysses Philomathic Library", choose "TRU-Ulysses Public Lib [Curbside Grab and Go]".
The activation date is set to the current date. If you'd like the hold to become active on a later date, enter it into the Activation Date field.
Click on the "Submit Request" button.
Your request will be submitted to the library. When your item becomes available, you will receive an email or phone call.
To learn more, go to this page and click on "Request Materials".
To check on the status of a hold request, choose "My Account" from the menu under the FLLS logo, and select "Requests" from the dropdown. Then look at the Status column for your item.
Active means your request is active but not yet filled. This usually means the item is not yet available to loan to you.
Pending means the item is now available to loan is the request is in the process of being filled by the library.
Held means the item is being held for you but has not been checked out to you.
Out means the item has been checked out to you. During Covid closures, this means the item has been placed in the lobby for you to pickup.
