Stories

If I Were an Astronaut
By: Eric Braun
Read by: Serena Auñón-Chancellor, astronaut

If I were an astronaut, I would zoom into outer space and work on the International Space Station. Dream big, and see what fun it is to be an astronaut.  Making this story even better, it’s read aloud by an astronaut on the International Space Station!

Eric and the Red Planet: A Space Adventure with Numbers
By: Caroline Glicksman
Read by: the StoryTime Family

Eric has won a trip to the space station! He can see how all the astronauts train and even go inside the special rocket fueled up to go to Mars. But Eric’s curiosity about numbers gets him into a very sticky situation. Can his love of honey and numbers get him back safely?

Crafts & Activities

There are so many out-of-this-world crafts to explore this week! Oobleck and Slime and play dough are always fun (though sometimes messy), and building a rocket ship out of a cardboard box and construction paper is a classic!  Grab a glue stick and the contents of the kitchen junk drawer and see what you can create together or check out STEAMsational for more outer space crafts ideas and recipes.
